Nipissing Offers Fun and Affordable Workshops This Summer

Summer Series

This summer, Nipissing has launched its Summer Series: a lineup of leisure learning courses. This is a series of workshops for learners of all ages and abilities to explore new skills and hobbies, engage in some fun, be inspired, and connect with others.

Get ready for some affordable, fun workshops this summer! These workshops will be hosted by local professionals, artists, and educators, and will be 1-2 hours long — either in-person or virtual.

You’ll create their very own compositions and designs, while allowing the sun to help with processing time. You’ll leave the workshop with your own paper and wearable artworks.
Introduction to PodcastingMonday, August 8th at 7:00pmLearn about the basics of podcasting and create an award-winning podcast on a zero-dollar budget. You’ll learn everything from creating, editing, mixing, social media, hosting, and how you can be a podcaster.
Mandala PaintingThursday, August 18th at 7:00pmPaint a mandala on glass with your choice of background and colours! Bring your creativity and willingness to try a new experience! This workshop offers you the opportunity to paint different types of mandalas on a glass frame.
Punch NeedleMonday, August 29th at 7:00pmIf you’re interested in fibre arts, but aren’t sure where to start, then this may be the workshop for you! Learn the basics of Punch needle! Punch needle is all the rage right now and it marries the properties of drawing/painting with fibre seamlessly. During this workshop, you’ll learn how to create your own designs on a canvas and how to load and use the punch needle tool. This technique is interactive and fun and is great for anyone looking for a new artistic medium to try! Beginners welcome — no experience required!
